Transparencies and materials redefine the perception of open space, creating places of connection between architecture, nature and everyday life.

LAGO, a leading company in the design and furnishing sector, launches the first collection in its history designed and conceived entirely for outdoor use. An initiative that marks an important step for the company, which thus brings its iconic language to outdoor spaces, reinterpreting some of its most recognisable creations in a key capable of dialoguing with both the landscape and architecture.
Objects, therefore, conceived for outdoor living and born from a precise principle: to let design integrate naturally with the outdoor environment, creating a balance of lightness, transparency and harmony with space.
"With this collection we wanted to expand our alphabet beyond the confines of the home," says Daniele Lago, President & Head of Design at LAGO."The outdoors today represents one of the most interesting spaces in contemporary living: a place of connection between architecture, nature and everyday life. Our challenge was to keep the LAGO identity intact, reinterpreting it in an authentic way to dialogue with thelandscape and natural light."
The furniture does not impose its presence, but fits into the space naturally, taking on an almost organiccharacter . A distinctive element of the collection is the use of the iconic glass legs, a LAGO design signature that generates the characteristic feeling of suspension. In the outdoor environment this quality is amplified: the transparency of the glass intertwines with natural light, lightening the perception of volumes and making them even more essential and architectural.
"Our aim was not simply to design outdoor furniture, but to create objects capable of entering into a relationship with the environment," continues Daniele Lago."When design becomes light and almost immaterial, it leaves room for nature, light and architecture. It is in this balance that the true quality of living is born."
The collection reinterprets some of the most recognisable icons of LAGO design and develops around the Air concept , one of the most distinctive features of the company's DNA. The system includes the Air table, the Mezz'aria chair - also available in an armchair version - and the Air sofa, flanked by matching coffee tables and a collection of rugs designed to complete outdoor environments with aesthetic and material continuity.
Each product has been rethought in terms of shapes, materials and technical solutions, generating to all intents and purposes new designs capable of preserving LAGO's identity and at the same time responding to the needs of the outdoor environment.
The Air Outdoor table retains the iconic suspension of the top on glass legs, introducing a teak top composed of 8 cm thick slats spaced to facilitate water drainage. This solution reinterprets the material character of the original table with a design technique conceived for outdoor performance. Alongside this version, thin tops with new organic or shaped shapes are also available, made of high-performance materials such as ceramic stoneware, polished glass and XGlass.
The Mezz'aria Outdoor chair has been developed with a stainless steel frame and is available in different interpretations: woven with a technical decorative rope, with a 3D printed shell made of a special wood-based compound, or upholstered with a quick-drying waterproof system.
The Air Stone sofa, on the other hand, represents a completely new design. Its soft, organic bases are reminiscent of stones polished by water and are designed to encourage the natural run-off of rain. The bases suspended on glass legs support freely positionable free-standing backrests, offering great compositional freedom and a fluid relationship with the outdoor space. A lighting system integrated under the bases emphasises the suspended feel of the sofa and contributes to creating suggestive atmospheres in the evening hours.
Each element of the collection has been developed with aspecific technical focus on the outdoor environment: stainless steel, natural teak, high-performance ceramic materials, technical fabrics and construction systems designed to guarantee resistance, durability and ease of maintenance.
The result is a complete collection that preserves LAGO's design identity and at the same time opens up a new dimension of living for the company: a space where design, nature and architecture coexist in continuity, giving shape to an outdoor experience never before seen in the LAGO world.
