EVOLVING: at the Salone del Mobile 2026 LAGO transforms living into an ever-changing experience.

    Sound, light and matter build spaces that are not merely experienced, but are transformed together with their inhabitants. In this scenario, interior and exterior cease to be opposites and become parts of a single fluid ecosystem, in which design becomes a relationship.

  On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2026, LAGO presents EVOLVING, a new design chapter marking the transition from design as object to design as experience. Not a defined direction, but an open condition: a state in which space, light, sound and matter intertwine, giving shape to a living space capable of adapting, evolving and embracing the changes of contemporary life. "Design is not just form, but a way of thinking about the world. Today it is a living organism, evolving together with people and their needs," says Daniele Lago, President & Head of Design at LAGO. "With this Salone we want to make this transformation visible, creating spaces capable of generating deep connections between individuals, the environment and architecture." It is within this vision that a design narrative that transcends the traditional boundaries of livingtakes shape . Spaces are no longer defined compartments, but open systems, in constant dialogue, where functions are contaminated and experience becomes the true centre of design. Beyond the boundary: Outdoor and Air as an evolution of space Evolution manifests itself in the overcoming of the physical limits of living. The outdoor debut represents a strategic step for LAGO: for the first time, the brand's language extends to open-air spaces, bringing with it lightness, transparency and a direct relationship with the landscape. The iconic glass legs amplify the feeling of suspension, helping to dissolve the boundary between architecture and nature. At the same time, in its 20th anniversary year, the Air Roundy Bookcasemarks the evolution of one of the company's most representative systems. Starting from the original principle of suspension, Air is transformed by introducing softer, more organic shapes that make space more fluid and dynamic. Outdoor and Air converge in a single vision: that of continuous living, where interior and exterior, structure and furniture, merge in a light and permeable balance. Space that listens: sound experience and 36e8 Cinema Within EVOLVING, the experience of space extends beyond the visual and tactile dimensions, opening up to a new sensory component. With the 36e8 Cinema Wall System, the living room is transformed into an immersive environment where design and technology are fully integrated. The system incorporates an acoustic dimension that helps define the architecture itself: sound becomes an integral part of the design. Thus a true sound experience is born , in which space can also be 'heard'. The domestic environment acquires perceptive depth, becoming a place capable of activating emotions and connections. The kitchen as a system: 36e8 Formae and LAGO Kitchen Store This evolution finds one of its most significant points in the kitchen, increasingly central to the organisation of the contemporary home. With the 36e8 Formae kitchen, LAGO overcomes the rigidity of linear composition to introduce angled geometries and monolithic volumes, capable of redefining the relationship between function and expression. The kitchen becomes an architecture within architecture, a fluid space in which aesthetics and everyday use integrate naturally. This vision takes concrete form in the new LAGO Kitchen Store in Milan, the first space in the city entirely dedicated to the kitchen world and a sign of a strategic evolution in the brand's presence. Located in one of the most historically representative addresses for LAGO, the store is configured as a specialised design hub, where display and design coexist in an immersive environment. The 105 square metre space hosts four compositions that dialogue with each other, alternating solutions with an island facing the shop windows and linear configurations further inland, offering a complete interpretation of the versatility of the kitchen system. An area dedicated to design integrates a material library that renders tangible finishes, surfaces, construction solutions and patents, allowing a direct understanding of product quality and innovation. The Kitchen Store thus goes beyond the traditional idea of a showroom, proposing a warm and welcoming environment in which to live the kitchen as an experience, amidst materials, configurations and details that build a coherent and contemporary tale of living. "The kitchen is the beating heart of the home, the space where every daily gesture becomes an experience," stresses Daniele Lago."Designing it means creating places of relationship, freedom and expression, capable of narrating the people who live in them." Fuorisalone: LAGO in town during Milan Design Week On the occasion of Milan Design Week, the EVOLVING vision extends beyond the confines of the Salone del Mobile, taking root in the brand's iconic venues in the city. The LAGO Flagship Store in Via Durini 5 becomes one of the main landmarks of the Fuorisalone, welcoming new collections and the evolution of iconic systems in an immersive experience open to the public. To complete the experience, from Tuesday to Friday, a temporary garden created in collaboration with Le Tribute - distributed exclusively in Italy by Anthologyby Mavolo - and open to the public, transforms the space into a convivial and dynamic environment, where nature and design dialogue in harmony, creating a fluid and contemporary extension of living. Growth and international vision The design evolution is accompanied by a path of growth and international consolidation, in which design, strategy and development proceed in an integrated manner. "Evolution for LAGO is a continuous process that involves every area of the company," says Gilberto Negrini, Managing Director."We are strengthening our presence in global markets and investing in new growth opportunities, with the aim of bringing our vision of design to increasingly diverse contexts and responding to a market in constant transformation."
