An innovative model of sustainable tourism comes to life on the Swiss shores of Lago Maggiore. Protagonist of the project is also the design by LAGO, which signs the interior of the units with light and sustainable furniture perfectly integrated in the natural context. Winner of the Hotel Innovation Award, Habitat Lago Maggiore redefines tourist accommodation through a novel combination of wooden architecture, interior design and respect for the environment.
More than just a hotel, Habitat represents a true living ecosystem. The structures, built according to the highest standards of excellence and sustainability, are named after the seven chakras and offer a unique energetic experience, enhanced by an accurate study of the geographical and vibrational characteristics of the place. In harmony with this context, the iconic Fluttua hanging bed gives an unprecedented sensation of lightness to the space, while the Chama convertible armchair welcomes guests with maximum comfort.
In addition to the residential units - built by the Italo-Swiss company Pagano with unique, patented technology - the complex also includes a multifunctional suite for group activities, a fully accessible module, an outdoor piazza and a shop with local products.
"Our design has always wanted to put man at the centre, in balance between nature and technology," says Daniele Lago - President and Head of Design at LAGO. "The lightness of our furnishings and attention to the environment have found maximum expression in the Habitat Lago Maggiore project, thus pursuing the intention of having a place that is a promoter of an authentic quality of welcome, where design is not an end in itself, but becomes a tool to generate well-being, connection and shared beauty."
