Isola di San Servolo

Located in the Venetian lagoon, opposite the Biennale park, the design of the café of the San Servolo event and conference centre developed out of the City of Venice’s desire to rewrite the future of the island—one of the most picturesque and fascinating in the archipelago—in contemporary terms. The space was conceived to serve the work of this little corner of the lagoon: hosting and offering excellence. The N.O.W. system’s alternation of hues clothes the wall of the counter and becomes architecture in a hypnotic, rhythmic play marked out by the tones of the Venetian flooring. The café counter opens up like a window onto the main room, light and brimming with vitality thanks to the transparency of the AIR system. “The island transforms into a design lab for work-in-progress, a multifunctional platform that draws on the innovation and skills of the leading Italian businesses.”
