Bulbus Lighting Studio

Architect Elisabetta Paiano

The new LAGO AT WORK Turin @ Bulbus Lighting Studio is a meeting place for designers and clients where light, architecture, art and design are mutually influential, resulting in creative, customised, technologically advanced and high performance lighting designs. The lighting studio, designed with LAGO products by Elisabetta Paiano, lighting designer and engineer, is located in the area of Turin that perhaps more than any other is advancing the transformation of the city that began with the 2006 Olympic Games. Bulbus Lighting Studio decided to start its adventure in a splendid late-19th-century building in Via Boucheron, steps from Piazza Statuto, to breathe in the air of change in a royal salon filled with Roman remains, Baroque views and Art Nouveau architecture. The aim of the project for the interior was to create an open-plan space that could serve simultaneously as a comfortable office, stimulating for design, as well as a meeting space, a pleasant setting for exhibitions, a spacious classroom.

At the entrance to the open-plan space, a round glass Axys table is completed by elegant, colourful leather Dangla chairs. A practical 30-mm shelf divides the spaces with intelligent design, connecting them with a broken suspended line that travels along the wall and embellishes the interior. The surprising Et Voilà wardrobe has a white fabric door and a white and ochre yellow interior that pick up the colours that permeate all of the spaces, making them light-filled and welcoming. The Air tables with laminate tops are suspended on invisible, extra-clear tempered glass that brings a sense of lightness to the space and lets the light fill the whole room. All of this was made possible by the modularity of LAGO furnishings, which, rather than identifying rooms, make every place feel as much like home as possible: welcoming, full of energy, relaxing and productive.
